Airline Compatibility
The ideal compromise between massive volume and strict cabin compliance.
With a height of 49 cm, this bag easily fits within the limits of the sizer control templates.
This 49x32x15/20 cm format is an excellent compromise between large capacity and compliance, meeting the cabin standards of the major airlines.
Standard Cabin Bag (100% Compliant):
With dimensions of 49 × 32 cm, the bag is accepted in the overhead compartment by major airlines, as it remains well below the 55 × 35 × 25 cm limit:
Low-Cost Airlines (Compliant - Flexibility):
The adjustable thickness (15 cm to 20 cm) ensures you comply with the Priority Cabin Bag. Even in expanded mode (20 cm), the bag remains within the limits of low-cost carriers.
MoovNext Recommendation: Use this product as your main cabin bag. It is guaranteed to fit everywhere, without surprises, and allows you to avoid the constraints of ultra-small formats.
Important note: This model prioritizes carrying volume; it is intended for the overhead compartment and not for placement under the seat.

FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About Your Nomad Urban Compression 17" Bag
How does the vacuum compression system actually work?
The bag features an airtight compartment with a special valve.
Thanks to the free electric pump, you can remove the air trapped between the fibers of your clothes, reducing their volume by 30% to 60% depending on use. This allows you to optimize the interior space without ever increasing the exterior dimensions of your luggage.
Will the compression wrinkle my clothes?
The system removes only the air and does not haphazardly compress the fabrics. By carefully folding your clothes before vacuum sealing, you stabilize their position. With no air to circulate, friction is limited and your belongings stay perfectly in place, protected and ready to wear upon arrival.
Is the bag really accepted by all airlines?
Yes. With its dimensions of 49 × 32 × 20 and height of 49 cm, it meets the strictest market standards (often set at 55 cm). Even when fully extended (20 cm thick), it remains perfectly compliant with the size requirements of premium and low-cost airlines (Ryanair Priority, EasyJet, etc.). Its flexible structure makes it easy to fit into security screening bins.
What is the difference between the 36L and 55L sizes?
That’s the strength of the Urban Nomad. For your daily commutes, it stays slim and stylish (15 cm thick / 36L). For your trips, you open the expansion gusset (+5 cm) and activate the vacuum compression. This dual action unlocks a total capacity of 55L: you get the maximum allowed carry-on volume without ever changing bags.
Can I use compression for fragile items?
We recommend using compression only for textiles (clothing, towels, jackets). Avoid placing rigid or fragile objects inside the compression area to avoid risking damage to the valve or the object itself.
How to handle dirty or wet clothes?
The bag features an isolated waterproof pocket inside. It allows you to hermetically separate your clean belongings from your damp sports clothes or shoes. No odors or moisture spread to the rest of your equipment.
Does the 17" compartment really protect my computer?
Yes, it is a priority. The Tech compartment is separate from the compression zone. It features high-density "Shock-Proof" padding that suspends your computer to prevent it from touching the ground in the event of a shock. You carry your valuable equipment with complete peace of mind.
How to maximize compression effortlessly?
For a high-performance result, MoovNext offers you 🎁 a Travel Electric Pump with every bag purchased. Ultra-compact and USB-C rechargeable, it fits in a small pocket and allows you to vacuum out the air in a few seconds. It’s the secret to carrying twice as many personal belongings without changing the size.
How to avoid exceeding the allowed carry-on weight?
Once packed, this bag typically weighs between 8 and 9 kg. For peace of mind when traveling, we recommend using our NomadTech 50kg Digital Scale to check the weight of your luggage before departure.
How to optimize the space inside even further?
For trips longer than 10 days, we recommend adding our 9L or 14L Compression Packing Cubes . By combining the bag's built-in compression with these additional cubes, you turn your Nomad Urbain 17" into a true mobile wardrobe capable of holding all your essentials without changing the size.
